We met ajith in the tourist center in colombo when we were all over the place, didnt had a way to get to our destination and didnt planed going to kandy at all. He helped us to plan our journey and fixed us a driver. He invited us to kandy to he’s guesthouse and even tough we didnt wanted nor planed going to kandy it was a really good decision. It saved us time a headache. Now about the guesthouse- run by ajith family Really nice family and clean room. Not at the center but sure it was a good staying. Thanks. We recommend it.

We loved our stay here. The room is really clean and comfortable. The bathroom is really clean, large and spacious as well. The family that owns and runs is extremely kind and helpful. We were so tired when we arrived that we did not feel like going back out to the town to get dinner so the son helped us find a place that would deliver dinner to us at the hotel. The delivery fee was less than $1.50. The food was also local and very delicious. The breakfast was fantastic and they also arranged a tuk for us to go to the train station the next day. This place is not right in the heart of the town but it has a beautiful view and it's a quiet place to stay. So worth it for the money.

Excellent guest house, though location not so good.

We stayed for two nights at this family run guesthouse. Our room was clean, spacious with a good en-suite and a nice balcony with lush foliage overlooking the river. Breakfasts were excellent, especially the daal. Our only problem was location; it’s a good bit out of town and the traffic can be heavy getting anywhere. The shops etc nearby are not especially suited to tourists, though I did manage an 85 pence (usd 1.10) haircut. We sometime used tuk tuks, but we actually found that Uber worked really well here- it saved wondering how you would get back after dinner. We would happily stay again.

The local tuk-tuk drivers had difficulty finding this hotel which is off the beaten track on the outskirts of Kandy. Although the address is Riverside Gardens there is scant evidence of a river, hidden as it is by very heavy, lush foliage, so the “river view” is a bit of a stretch. We could see no evidence of a garden. We stayed only two nights, during which time we saw only one person in charge of running the hotel; this was Tharaka, a pleasant, helpful young man who arranged for his friend to drive us up to Sigiriya – a cost of 8000LKR. In conversation with him it transpired that the hotel had undergone a renovation 2 years previously; we were surprised by this, thinking it was all very recent as it was still unfinished and had several safety issues, not least of which were all the exposed electricity cables in bedrooms, bathrooms and upstairs landing. Plugging the hairdryer in caused all the fuses to blow! On the second floor is a sort of communal area with a kettle – and one small plastic cup! - but no bannister overlooking the stairs. Another flight of stairs leads to an unfinished floor which seem to be, for the most part, roofless. Tharak told me he stays overnight maybe twice a week – on other nights the front door is locked – so no escape for guests if an emergency arises. This is not good. Breakfast is served in the reception area, and was very good. There is no chance of an evening meal and no restaurants within walking distance. Daily housekeeping wasn't in evidence. On our last morning an incident occurred when some of our money went missing – it was recovered, and I'm not going to say anything else about it other than we know the culprit, and when the theft (and recovery) occurred, so all I will say is....keep your money with you at all times!

We stayed there for 3 nights (the time necessary to visit Kandy, Sygiria, tea plantation and Pinawala). The room was really clean and everything working properly. The owner family really very kind and punctual. One evening they cook for us; that night I eat the best srilanka food of my vacation. Price was good. Really recommended!!!
